Weightless – “Self-Adjustment” CD/LP PRE-ORDER NOW!

Clarity Records is excited to announce the release of the debut album from WEIGHTLESS titled Self-Adjustment on CD, LP and Digital formats.
Following a series of small run of self released demos and tapes, the album Self-Adjustment was recorded by Matt Hills in 2011 and will be released on July 13, 2012.

The vinyl version of the album will be strictly limited to 150 copies!
The LP comes with a Glacier Blue & Clear “Colour In Colour” effect in a gatefold cover with matte finish artwork, created by singer/guitarist Nick Yap. All LPs will also come with a digital download card.

Pennywise “All Or Nothing” new CD/LP

Punk legends PENNYWISE are back with a brand new album. This is the bands first album without original singer Jim Lindberg.

Pennywise return to their mid-’90s form on “All Or Nothing,” their first record with vocalist Zoli Teglas of Revelation alum Ignite, giving the band a new energy that hasn’t been heard since 1997′s “Full Circle.” Vinyl version includes free CD of this entire album.

Clarity Records would like to welcome Adelaide band WEIGHTLESS to the Clarity Records label.

Weightless is a four-piece band hailing from the southern suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia influenced by the clean guitar-tones of the ’90s. Weightless played their first show in 2009 and from there the band gone on to build a loyal fan base, supporting bands such as La Dispute (USA), Bridge and Tunnel (USA), Raein (Italy) and many more. Following a series of small-run self-recorded demos and tapes, Self-Adjustment is the band’s full-length debut, recorded by Matt Hills. Understated yet direct, the 8 tracks on Self-Adjustment find Weightless sharpening their sound, and stretching out in some unexpected directions.

Weightless have been a local favourite for everyone at Clarity Records for a while now and we are more than excited to be releasing the bands debut album. After hearing the first mix of the album, it instantly became our favourite recording for 2011 and now in 2012 we are can’t wait to share the album with you.

Self-Adjustment is set for a June 2012 release on both CD & LP formats. Artwork, a track from the album and pre-orders will be available very soon!

Record Store Day And 2 Year Birthday Sale – April 21st & 22nd

Here is the answer to one of the most asked questions in the last few week, “What is Clarity doing for Record Store Day?”. Well, Clarity Records is excited to announce a sale that we will be having over the weekend of Saturday April 21st and Sunday April 22nd.

To help celebrate International Record Store Day we will be holding a sale on Saturday April 21st, then to celebrate our 2 year anniversary and to say thank you for all your support we are extending the sale to Sunday April 22nd.

The sale will be 20% off the marked price of all CDs and Vinyl. Not only this, but we will be stocking a number of releases that is featured on the Record Store Day release schedule. We are also excited to say that we will be squeezing into the store some new fixtures that will help make your “flicking” experience a bit more easier.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLARITY RECORDS! On this date 2 years ago, Laura and I opened Clarity Records and looking back now it has been one of the best experiences of our life. We have loved every second of it and we would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for your constant support, we could never do it with out you! Darren Gibson Instore At Clarity Records, March 31st

Brilliant musician and good friend Darren Gibson is on tour with Xavier Rudd and when the tour hits Adelaide Darren will be stopping off at Clarity Records on March 31st at 3pm to play a free instore acoustic performance.
Joining him is Josh Mann (Paper Arms) and Ben David (Ben David & The Banned), two very accomplished musicians who have stamped there names in the Adelaide solo acoustic scene.

Darren is a store favourite at Clarity Records and we are very excited to him him play. The show starts at 3pm sharp, as Darren has a show to play that night at the Gov. So get there early and show your support!

New Ceremony, No Trigger, Neurosis Reissue’s and more

A stream of new releases flowing in this week at Clarity Records. The first is the latest 7″ from CEREMONY on their new label Matador Records. The 7″ features a song off the upcoming album “Zoo” and a cover on the B side. One thing you may have noticed from Ceremony is that each release has differed from the last. I can tell you now that is not a “hardcore” record and nothing like past albums. Still, it is really good and worth checking out.

NO TRIGGER have a brand new album called “Tycoon” out now on CD & LP through No Sleep Records. No Trigger are one of the front runners these days in that fast melodic punk / hardcore sound and the album delivers a style no to different from Strike Anywhere, Kid Dynamite, Such Gold.

Other new releases out from artists including: Daylight 7″, Silverstein CD/10″, Menzingers CD, Useless ID CD/LP, Fucked Up 12″, Harley’s War CD, Saddest Landscape LP, Goatwhore LP, Loma Prieta LP, TS & The Past Haunts LP, Give 7″, Capitalist Casualties / Lack Of Interest 7″, Integrity 7″, Pulling Teeth / Mighty Sphincter 7″, Bridge 7 Tunnel 7″ and a lot more.

We also have some reissue LPs from Neurosis, Boysetsfire, This Will Destroy You and others. We also recently received more copies of the hand numbered BIRTHDAY PARTY reissues. These reissues include LP titles “Junkyard”, “Hee Haw” and “Prayers On Fire”. These are very limited, so get on these fast as our first lots sold out very quick.

We also received some more zines, including new issue of Maximum Rocknroll, as wee as a large shipment of new books.

Clarity Records Bags

Clarity Records have brand new tote bags. We have two different option available, the first being a long handle shoulder bag and the second being a deeper bag with short handles. Both options are a natural coloured bag with a black Clarity logo print and they are the perfect size for one record, or many records. They are nice strong bags and can be used for many purposes other than buying records. If you are interested, come into the store and we have them for sale, or if you are buying a lot of records I am sure we will be kind enough to give you one for free! If you are interstate / overseas chuck us an email info@clarityrecords.net if you are interested in one and we can arrange for it to be mailed to you.

New Trask Talk single, John K Samson album and a lot more

This is our first update for 2012, so welcome to the new year. As a lot of you might know, companies stop releasing new albums over the new year period so we haven’t had many new release to update you on. New releases are starting to roll in so you can expect more updates from now on.

A few good titles in this week. These include a new 7″ from TRASH TALK called “Awake”, new CD/LP from The Weakerthans front man JOHN K. SAMSON called “Provincial”, newCD/LP from The Get Up Kids MATT PRYOR called “May Day”.

Other new releases include Voodoo Glow Skulls CD, End Of A Year / Shook Ones 7″, Gallows 7″, Minority Unit 7″, Suburban Scum 7″, Heartless LP (Southern Lord), Loincloth LP (Southern Lord) and more.

We also have vinyl represses including Dead Swans LP, Iron Lung LP, Trial 7″, Between The Buried And Me LP, Eyehategod LPs and others.

You can also grab a copy of the latest issue of Maximum Rocknroll as well as other new zines and books that we now have in stock.

Two great Australian labels that we have recently been getting a lot of stock of, that has proven to be really popular, has been RIP SOCIETY RECORDS and NEGATIVE GUEST LIST RECORDS. Both labels have been releasing a lot of great 7″ singles and LPs of late and have been going from strength to strength. It is always great seeing Australian labels do so well and we really wanted to highlight these two.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has been buying our Clarity Records t-shirts. They have proven to be very popular, so much so that we have had to get another run of shirts done.
